This patient in her fifties came into the office to discuss breast reconstruction. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and wanted to know her options for breast reconstruction. She wanted the breast to be made completely of her, without an implant. After discussion, she elected to undergo placement of tissue expanders during her double mastectomy. After healing from the initial surgery, she elected for an abdominal based breast reconstruction. The photos show before her first surgery and after healing from the DIEP surgery.
