What To Expect

Otoplasty Preparation and Procedure

During Otoplasty, the patient will be under either general anesthesia or a lighter sedation known as “twilight” anesthesia, and an incision will be made in the folds of the ear.

Dr. Yalif will be able to manipulate the cartilage and skin, reshaping the ear. For overly large ears, the extraneous cartilage and skin can be removed. If the ears are misaligned, he will stitch the ears evenly and in the most appropriate position. After surgery, the incisions will be sutured closed. Since the incisions are made in the natural creases of the ear, there will be no visible scarring. The surgery typically takes around two hours to complete.
