Know Your Y
As adults, we put effort into looking a certain way. Our clothes, hairstyles, makeup, and posture reflect conscious choices we make to show the world a version of ourselves that feels genuine, empowered, and beautiful. So why should our breasts be any different?
Dr. Asaf Yalif, a triple-board-certified plastic surgeon in Atlanta, may dramatically enhance your breast size, contour, and symmetry with a procedure known as Breast Augmentation. In addition, the upper body's silhouette and proportions are often altered for the better, resulting in better-fitting clothing and a more symmetrical overall appearance. The purpose of breast augmentation, or any other breast enhancement procedures, such as breast lift (mastopexy), nipple correction, or areola reshaping, is to make you happier with your body and appearance.
Enhance Your Y
During a Breast Augmentation, a silicone implant (prosthesis) is put under the breast (submammary) or between the breast and chest muscle (subpectoral) and then filled with saline. This prosthesis enlarges the breast area to give a fuller bust (larger cup size), better shape, and more cleavage.
Additionally, breast augmentation can use various types of breast implants, including saline breast implants, to achieve the desired look. Whether you aim for a subtle enhancement or a more dramatic transformation, this procedure is designed to improve your body proportions and boost your confidence. By choosing the right type of breast implants, you can ensure a natural and aesthetically pleasing outcome.
Customized To You
At Y Plastic Surgery in Atlanta breast augmentation is tailored to meet your unique needs and aesthetic goals. Dr. Yalif understands that every patient is different, and he offers a range of options to ensure your procedure is as personalized as possible.
Women today have more breast implant options than ever before, which makes Breast Augmentation even more exciting for patients. Dr. Yalif offers multiple sizes of all breast implant styles, and you can choose round or shaped implants, depending on your personal preference. Your consultation with our Atlanta Breast Augmentation expert, Dr. Yalif, sets the foundation for getting results that exceed your expectations. He can help you choose the size, shape, and type of breast implant filling that best suits your body and aesthetic goals.
Dr. Yalif offers implants by Mentor, one of the most trusted names in breast implant safety and technology. These implants can be filled with either medical-grade saline solution, cohesive silicone gel, or highly cohesive silicone gel, sometimes called “gummy bears.” The choice of implant filling is one of personal preference. Most patients believe the cohesive gel implants feel and look more like natural breasts and are used in more than 80% of Breast Augmentation procedures performed in the United States. Silicone implants arrive at our office pre-filled, so Dr. Yalif makes a slightly larger incision than he uses for saline breast implants, which he fills after they’re inserted.
Most Breast Augmentation patients discuss their goals in terms of bra sizes—you may want to increase from a B to a D, for example. But breast implants are measured in cubic centimeters (cc) because bra sizes can vary a great deal depending on the brand. By listening to patients describe the types of results they want and performing a thorough physical exam, Dr. Yalif can help recommend implant sizes that can meet patients’ goals. Additionally, we use a volume-sizing kit that gives you a chance to envision the possible results and make adjustments if needed. This is a valuable tool that our patients appreciate.
Silicone gel implants can be either round, with volume evenly distributed all around, or teardrop-shaped, with more volume in the lower portion. Breast Augmentation patients who desire more upper breast fullness typically choose round implants.
Enhance Your Figure
At Plastic Surgery in Alpharetta and Atlanta Breast Augmentation is sought after by many women from the metro Atlanta area, with renowned specialist Dr. Asaf Yalif. He understands that each woman has very personal reasons for wanting breast enhancement surgery. Some want to feel more feminine or enjoy a more balanced figure with fuller breasts. Other women have had children and simply want to restore the appearance of their pre-pregnancy breasts.
In all cases, Dr. Yalif listens closely to each woman’s goals and helps her choose the breast implants and surgical techniques that best suit her needs.
Why choose Dr. Yalif? As a triple-board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Yalif combines extensive expertise with a patient-centric approach. He offers a wide range of breast augmentation options, including saline breast implants and various types of breast implants, ensuring each patient receives customized care tailored to their unique needs and aesthetic goals. With a focus on precision and natural-looking results, Dr. Yalif is committed to helping you achieve your desired transformation.
Enhancing Expectations
The shape of breasts with implants depends on the shape of the breast implant. Breast augmentation implants can be round or in the shape of a teardrop (more naturally anatomical). Which one a woman picks depends on how she wants to look. Anatomical implants give the upper part of the breast a gentle slope that makes it look fuller, while round implants give the upper part of the breast a round curve.
Another thing to think about before Breast Augmentation surgery is the width of the breasts, which affects how much "cleavage" there is between the breasts and the outer curves. It's important to have realistic expectations. Some women think of their breast size in terms of the size of their bra cups. If a size "A" wanted to be a size "C," there still needs to be enough breast tissue to cover the implants.
The desire for fuller, shapelier breasts is something women of all ages may feel. Dr. Yalif believes that ideal Breast Augmentation candidates should be in good overall health and undergoing the procedure for personal fulfillment, not to attract or impress others. They also should have realistic expectations about the results. When considering Breast augmentation Atlanta and Alpharetta patients can anticipate a range of benefits, including:

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the U.S., and Dr. Yalif uses the most advanced techniques when he performs this surgery. He creates a surgical plan based on your consultation, which includes a specific incision site and how he will place the implants.
Dr. Yalif performs breast augmentation by inserting implants through one of three types of incisions:
This is at the base of the breast, just above the crease where it connects to the chest wall. This is the most common location because they offer excellent access to the breast pocket and are well-concealed beneath the breasts.
These incisions are made along the lower edge of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. This is a very discreet incision, but you should inform Dr. Yalif if you plan to breastfeed in the future because there is a small risk of disrupting the milk ducts.
A surgeon makes an incision in the underarm area. There is no scar on the breast, but the incision can be seen when lifting your arms while wearing a bikini or tank top. It’s not suitable for patients who get silicone gel implants.
Dr. Yalif uses the Keller Funnel® to insert breast implants for optimal sterility and safety during breast augmentation. The funnel enables him to place the implants without touching them, lowering the risk of complications. He places the implants either in front of or behind the chest muscle. A subglandular placement involves inserting implants behind the existing breast tissue but in front of the muscle. This is possible for patients with enough existing tissue to adequately camouflage the implant.
A submuscular placement involves inserting implants behind the pectoral muscle. This is a popular choice because the chest muscle provides more coverage for the implant, and the result often looks and feels more natural. Dr. Yalif also offers a subfascial implant placement. Using this technique, he creates a pocket behind a thin strip of connective tissue called the fascia—but in front of the muscle itself. It’s an appropriate approach in some cases and can be discussed with Dr. Yalif during the breast augmentation consultation.
Benefits Of Combining
For those looking to address sagging breasts in addition to enhancing their size and shape, combining breast augmentation with a breast lift can provide optimal results. This combination procedure not only increases breast volume with saline breast implants or other types of breast implants but also lifts and firms the breasts for a more youthful and perky appearance.
When considering getting a Breast Augmentation Atlanta patients can find additional benefits when combining procedures:
If you're considering breast augmentation and have concerns about sagging, discuss the option of a combined procedure with Dr. Yalif during your consultation. He will help you understand how combining a breast lift with implants can meet your aesthetic goals.
How long does it take to recover from Breast Augmentation?
After Breast Augmentation Atlanta and Alpharetta patients typically experience a well-tolerated recovery process. You can anticipate a week or so of pain from the incisions; expect muscle pain as well if the implants were placed behind the muscle. The second week is usually considerably better with much less sharp pain with some muscle soreness and aching.
In addition, the breast implants will start to feel a bit softer as the tissues accommodate the implant. Dr. Yalif may allow you to resume exercise at this point while wearing a sports bra or may ask you to wait a few more weeks if the breast augmentation surgery was more extensive. The implants will continue to soften and settle over the next four to eight weeks.
It has been shown that Breast Augmentation treatments lead to results that last for at least ten years. All breast implants are safe and long-lasting. This means that silicone implants, saline breast implants, and fat transfer implants are all made to last as long as possible in the body. You can expect the benefits of your breast enlargement to last at least ten years, and some may last up to twenty years.
Many women who come to our practice have had children and are looking to recapture their pre-pregnancy bodies. Pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding can take a physical toll on the breasts and abdominal area. A mommy makeover combines cosmetic breast surgery, such as a breast lift combined with Breast Augmentation, along with body contouring procedures that typically include a tummy tuck and liposuction. Dr. Yalif’s experience makes him an excellent choice if you’re considering a mommy makeover.
Breast augmentation at our practice typically costs around $7,650. This amount may vary some depending on the details of your individual procedure. You can learn more about the price of your procedure at your individual consultation.
Having children after a breast augmentation causes changes to your breasts. The size of the ducts increases as they prepare to produce milk and the surrounding soft tissue of the breast also stretches. The implant remains the same, but the tissue around it can change dramatically. Similarly, when you stop breastfeeding the gland may shrink as it stops producing milk. This results in the breast deflating and appearing to fall off of the implant.
Yes, you can breastfeed after a Breast Augmentation! We recommend choosing the inframammary incision to avoid risk to your duct tissue. Even if we use an incision along the lower edge of the areola, though, it should not result in enough scar tissue to interfere with breastfeeding. It’s important to remember, however, that not all women can breastfeed infants whether or not they get breast implants.
Yes, we do. Breast augmentation using fat from another area of your body is a technique we offer for women who want a modest increase in the size of their breasts without having implants inserted. Fat transfer is a technique that’s used in multiple ways, including as an alternative to synthetic fillers and for buttock augmentation.
The discomfort depends on the techniques used during the procedure. The area where the incisions are made will feel similar to recovering from a deep cut but can be managed with pain medication. Implant placement also affects your experience. If the implant is placed above the muscle, there is some ache, but it is generally mild. Placing the implant below the muscle causes more of a deep ache for several weeks. While we do prescribe pain medication, few patients need to take all of them. Most breast augmentation patients tolerate recovery quite well, whether we go above or below the muscle.
Yes, it’s safe! Risks associated with any surgery, such as anesthesia, are part of Breast Augmentation, of course. Complications also occur, including capsular contracture (when scar tissue develops around the implant capsule). This occurs in fewer than 5% of the cases. Breast asymmetry is uncommon but it can happen. Even less common risks are infection or bleeding around the implant. Implants may rupture or leak, but again this rarely occurs. Extremely rare is a risk of Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), a type of cancer that develops in the capsule your body forms around an implant. It is highly treatable when caught early and is associated with certain types of implants. During your consultation for Breast Augmentation Atlanta plastic surgeon, Dr. Yalif will be able to discuss this issue thoroughly with you. Finally, breast implants are not designed to last forever. The FDA recommends changing implants every 10 years. This means there is a 100% chance of reoperation in most patients who elect to get breast augmentation.
